When you subscribe to the Journal, I collect your email address to send newsletters, book news, and other author updates. Subscriptions use an email confirmation step.

If you contact me by email, I receive your email address and any information you include in your message. I use that information to respond and manage our correspondence.

Newsletter and email tracking

I use Kit to manage subscriptions and send newsletters. Kit processes subscriber information on my behalf.

Newsletter emails use tracking technologies that record email opens and link clicks. I use this information to understand readership and improve future communications.

You can unsubscribe at any time using the unsubscribe link in a newsletter or by contacting hello@rmlyons.com.

Website hosting and analytics

This website is hosted by Framer, which provides the infrastructure used to display and operate the site.

Framer provides built-in analytics to measure website traffic. Framer describes these analytics as cookie-free. Google Analytics is not currently configured on this website.

How information is shared

I do not sell or rent subscriber information, or share my mailing list with other authors or advertisers.

Information is processed by service providers as needed to operate the website, deliver newsletters, and handle email correspondence. Information may also be disclosed when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect legal rights or address fraud or security issues.

Book purchases and external links

Book purchases are handled through Amazon, rather than through this website. I do not collect payment card information through rmlyons.com.

This website also includes links to external services, including Amazon and Instagram. When you visit those services, their privacy policies apply.

How long information is kept

I keep newsletter information while you remain subscribed. After you unsubscribe, I retain only the information needed to honor your unsubscribe request and meet applicable legal obligations. Other newsletter information is deleted or anonymized when no longer needed.

Email correspondence is kept only as long as reasonably needed to respond, resolve the matter, and meet applicable obligations.

Your choices and requests

You may unsubscribe from newsletters at any time. You may also contact hello@rmlyons.com to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information I hold about you.

I will respond as required by applicable law and may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request. Some information may need to be retained for legal obligations or to ensure you remain unsubscribed.

Adult audience

This website and its content are intended for people aged 18 and older. I do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact me so I can investigate and arrange appropriate deletion.

Changes to this policy

I may update this policy as the website or its services change. The date above shows when it was last updated.
